Beach Box

The Mod Squad Challenge this week is to create a pop- up card. http://modsquadchallenge.blogspot.com/  This comes at a good time because I have several birthday cards to make and I love pop-ups because they are so appreciated.  My niece loves the beach so I made this card in a box for her birthday.  I used sunny colors because that is her personality.  She is so full of energy and so fun to be around... but when she leaves you feel like you were in a tornado.... in a good way, of course.  Most of the dies are from IO and I wrote a note for her on the back.  I made the sand castles out of sand paper and used some flower soft in the sand colors to give it more texture.

  1. OMGoodness! You are the queen of dies and now, I find that you excel in Pop Up cards too. This is really amazing. All of the elements and so real with the sand paper too. The colors bubble up with HAPPY.
Thanks for the comment on my pop up card. It ended up so thick that I could not fold it without lumps in it. I didn't even finish the outside. I had no die, but I found a drawing that I used. Still not something that I want to do again, ever. I will leave that up to you. lol

  2. This is so adorable, Kathy. Your niece is gonna love it. The little sand castles out of sandpaper are genius, and the umbrellas are a perfect touch. Love the bright colors too. I have made 1 card in a box, and found it very difficult, I have no idea why - but I may try it again because you have inspired me here!!

  3. Wow! This is magnificent. I have seen these done by many but so far I am not brave enough to try one. And, with my arm still bothering me I guess it might be awhile. It is even hard for me to type.

  5. Great card, I love the sandpaper and flower soft for texture. I made a cut file for a box card just before they became available in the Silhouette store:-) Thank you for joining in at the Mod Squad Challenge!
