Double D Looking Back in Time

WOW!  What great entries we had for our anniversary challenge.  The team works hard to provide inspiration for the challenges and it was fun that so many of you linked up to our challenges and took the time to comment on our blogs.  Thank You for your support of Double D. You are the best.  The randomly drawn winner of a $20 gift certificate to Dies are Us Store store from the  people who commented on my blog and posted on DD is Beverly Seizmore. CONGRATULATIONS,Beverly.  Please e-mail me at fkkrug@gmail.com for your voucher number.   You will find the winners of all the prizes plus the designer favorites on the Double D Blog

Now on to a brand New Challenge.

Looking Back in Time
Create something that reminds you of times gone by!

I was intrigued by the vintage look of this board with vintage images and in black and white. I looked through my dies and stamps and found a bicycle and some keys, but I was drawn to the typewriter.  I guess I must be vintage too because I learned to type on this type of typewriter. I was so excited when my husband bought me an electric typewriter for our anniversary one year. I used that typewriter until we got our first computer.... years later.

I did not have a typewriter die so I looked on line until I found a vintage one that had a free down load. Since all the pictures were clean and simple,  I did a clean and simple card that would be appropriate to send to a man.  I always have a hard time making them so it will be nice to have this in my stash.

This is the prize you can win if you post an entry on the Double D Blog

Hope you will join us.

Dies R Us New Baby

Anything NEW
(New dies, New baby, New house ... )

The new challenge at Dies R Us is all about something new.  I got this new Sue Wilson Die and it celebrates the arrival of a new baby.

These dies are so easy to make a really cute card
with just one die set.  It is easy to use as a stencil to high light the embossing and the background can be cut from contrasting colors or decorative papers.  The word baby cuts out so you can change the color.  I am basically a monochromatic person so I just used a different blue. I did a little sponging on the edges of the pieces to make them pop.

Double D 3rd Anniversary ~ It's On The Menu

It's a new year and a THIRD anniversary for Double D Challenge Blog and we are celebrating with food. Grab some inspiration from the mood board and create a food related project and join us for this challenge.

Since it is our third anniversary, there are three prizes up for grabs for those of you who celebrate with us and create a food related project.

Prize 1

Prize 2
Prize 3

I love Pop Up Cards and got this die set from Karen Burniston for Christmas.  Some of her pop ups are a little difficult until you get the hang of them, but this one was really easy. The hardest part for me was getting a decent photo.

Something sweet just goes with coffee so I used a cupcake from Karen's Pop up cupcake. Although I did not use it, there is a slot at the back of the coffee cup to add a gift card.

You will find more inspiration from the talented designers at Double D Challenge Blog. You will want to visit the blogs of the designers because some of them are offering blog candy  to celebrate this occasion.

As a way to say thank you for your support,  I will be giving out a $20 gift certificate to my favorite  place to shop, the Dies R Us Store. You will need to link up a project for the challenge and leave a comment on my blog to win .   The winners of all the prizes from all the designers who have blog candy will be posted on the Double D Blog on January 16 th.  I will also announce my winner here on my blog.

I want to thank all of you who have taken the time to link up your projects with us at Double D.  You are all so creative and give us inspiration and tips.  YOU have made the blog a success.
