Double D Wedding

Ah, June the month of weddings. I understand that many people have had to postpone the festivities until ACV (After Corona Virus).  Well, I will have a card ready next time I am invited to a wedding. Here is our fabulous Mood Board on the Double D Challenge Blog.

I used a Spellbinders grand cabinet die and put an IO bride and groom behind it.  I added a little color to the leaves and tree first.  I sponged some clouds on some card stock and put it behind the bride and groom.  I added some flowers and greenery from my stash to finish the project.

Hope you will join us for this challenge.  The team has fabulous inspiration ready for you at Double D Challenge Blog.

Dies R Us Summer Fun

Here it is the middle of June, and we have a new challenge starting at.Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  Now that most states have started opening up their parks and hospitality industries most all of us are ready to have some summer fun. The team has lots of different ideas about what summer fun means to them, and we are anxious  to see what you like to do for summer fun.  I don't golf , but three or four of my forever friends and several of my relatives do so I have several golf related stamps and dies.  My husband has played the guitar and sung to me under almost every kind of tree over the past 50 years and my kids (who don't like s'mores or marshmallows) had fun cooking hot dogs over an open flame.

I started with this Sue Wilson shadow box frame. I like this die because you can turn it different ways to fit your design.  I also used the Sue Wilson tropical collection for the birds and palm trees.

These dies were also part of my design.

We hope you have time to join us for this
summertime fun challenge over at Dies R Us Challenge Blog .

Double D Use your Scraps

                                                             Scraps~use your scraps

I have drawers full of scraps of paper.  One of the nice things about die cutting is that you can use these scraps to cut smaller die cuts or pieces of larger ones. They can become butterflies, birds, or umbrellas. You can use scraps for paper piecing and backgrounds. The team at DOUBLE D CHALLENGE BLOG  at will give you some amazing ideas for using your scraps.  Here is the fun Mood Board Diane created for us.

I used an old die from MFT.   I think it was called chicken wire. I cut the die in white paper then cut several small scraps of  pattern paper until I had enough parts to inlay inside the white die.

I used a Sue Wilson die cut cut from lilac card stock.  I always need birthday cards so I used the Poppy Stamps happy birthday die on top. I pulled some flowers from my stash .  The lilacs are from Elizabeth Crafts and the daisy's are Cheery Lynn. We hope you will join us for this challenge.  We get so much inspiration from all of you!!!

Dies R Us it's Dad's Day (Masculine)

I have a hard time making masculine cards so the challenge at DIES R US CHALLENGE BLOG was a perfect opportunity to make a  Father's Day card for my husband.

My husband bought his first horse when he was eight years old and has never stopped loved training horses.  When I saw this die, I knew it would be perfect for him.  Talk about an easy card. I used Lavina Moon paper glued to a white card base and and added the die cut on top.  I almost feel guilty about giving it to him because it was so easy to put together, but he does not need to know that....does he? I think it makes a striking card easy or not.
