The new Double D Challenge is Simply Gingham and Diane has created another fantastic inspiration board for us. Look at all this fabulous gingham.
Anything Goes With Gingham
I love gingham so much that I created two cards for this challenge. They have similar designs but I switched up the color and embellishments.
For this card I used the Gina Marie flower die and backed it with white card that was embossed with a Swiss dot embossing folder. The leaves are fern dies from Gina Marie. The hello is Diversions curly words and the butterflies, birds and flowers are IO.
Here is my other card.
I used the same Gina Marie dies, but this time I cut a white panel stamped it with an IO sentiment and backed it with some red gingham paper. I used IO strawberries and flower in the corner. My team mates have created some gorgeous examples for you HERE. We can't wait to see your gingham designs.
First I have to say that I am always inspired by the photo that you show at Double D. Kathy, your cards are a bit similar, but so so different. Love the detail on the yellow one, with the flowers, bird and butterflies. What a bright and sunny card. On your second on, it was a great idea to let the gingham show through the die cut. It has such a different effect. Great cards, beautiful designs.
ReplyDeleteLOVE LOVE LOVE!! These are just beautiful Kathy. I love the way you have incorporated the gingham, and your colours are full of summery goodness! hugs :)
ReplyDeleteOMG ... both cards are FABULOUS! LOVE the bold sunny yellow color on the first one and the flower cluster is fabulous. And the red strawberry design on the second is a wonderful summer time idea! The overall design is FANTASTIC!! Great job ... hope you have a happy day!

Such a good idea to use the die on that gingham, I would never have thought of that. LOVE all the elements on both cards, you always know how to get the flowers and embellies just right. Those little birds on the first one are perfect, well done!!
