Double D Challenge Blog Flowers Gallore

Time for another fun challenge at Double D Challenge Blog  that Darlene calls
Flower GALORE. For this challenge you must use more than one flower.

Look at all these amazing garden flowers. I love all the pictures and found it hard to decide between them, but I needed a birthday card for a friend who has a rustic barn like the one in the picture so I decided to use that for my inspiration.

I started by scoring white card stock using my Score Pal then using a direct ink  to paper technique and  a couple of shades of brown distress ink. Then I embossed it with an embossing folder and added some black ink to high light the embossing.

Next I used IO hydrangea die to cut three flower bases and about 200 little flowers that I sponged in shades of blue and purple.

I stamped the Stampendous jar with stayz on ink on  acetate and colored with markers. Then I used my die to cut the jar from white and the acetate. All that was left to do then was assemble the jar and flowers on the wood grained base.

Working with Diane and Darlene  at DD  is a joy for all of  the team and the mood boards are fabulous inspiration. Go take a peek at what the talnted ladies on the team created for this challenge at Double D Challenge Blog. I know we are going to see some gorgeous creations from you and one randomly chosen person will win this wonderful flower die from Memory Box.

  2. I often wonder where these beautiful example boards are found. They really give some great inspiration. Your hydrangea is a perfect example of the inspiration that you had, and then were able to put onto paper. This is very much your wonderful and exceptional talent. I can see all of the shaded blue and purple small flowers cluster to make a real life looking hydrangea. Diane is so correct and that you are a valued part of this team. So glad that I can enjoy your work too.

  7. Wow WOW!!! I've been wondering about that wood background which is so very gorgeous. That is hands down the coolest wood background I've ever seen. I feel like running to my stamp room and giving it a try right now, but I can't imagine mine ever turning out this fabulous. Love the embossing folder you used on it. Wondering what I have that might work... I was seeing all the die cutting the girls have done for this challenge, and you did BOTH the awesome background AND die cutting! LOTS of die cutting! The hydrangea blooms are amazing! What an incredible work of art!
