Diane has challenged us to Use Tan Neutrals and add some texture to our projects for the challenge this time. Adding texture to a design also gives it a sense of dimension without necessarily adding bulk to the card. There are so many ways to add texture to a card with all the amazing embossing folders, embossing paste. glitter. beads, lace, burlap.... and the list goes on.
After I saw this amazing Mood Board, I went digging through my stash to see what I could use and I found a roll of burlap covered with lace, a burlap flower, and a button that would work.
This card because was so quick (five minutes) and easy, but I thought it captured the essence of the mood board.
Supplies:
Gina K Kraft card base
PTI designer paper
burlap with lace and a burlap flower from the Dollar Store
IO Wheat die.
Buttons from stash.
Ailene's tacky glue.

It might have been a five minute card, but it is absolutely stunning!! That ribbon was a lucky find as it adds even more texture and the flowers are gorgeous as well..a beautiful card for sure!

ReplyDeleteThanks for the inspiration, as this card has so much style and texture. Love all of the elements that you gathered together to make this card. So pleasing and gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteWOW ... 5 minutes? Has the perfection of a lot longer than that! Just gorgeous Kathy and I must say ... your burlap flower looks a whole lot better than my burlap flowers! LOL I think I'll blame it on the fact that I used an older die cutting set! LOL Well done my friend ... awesome inspiration!
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous!! I don't think I could even pick out the paper in 5 minutes ;) I love the strip of burlap covered in lace!! The flower is fabulous!! Love this, my friend!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

What a gorgeous card and seeing your flowers on it reminded me that I had a few like that so maybe I will find time to add a card to the challenge some time too.
ReplyDeleteGob smackin' gorgeous Kathy. Love the layout and the burlap. That flower has been cut so perfectly. Awesome card.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Kathy! Love the clean lines with all of the texture and dimension. I really need that wheat die cut!
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. I love the simpleness of it, and the patterned paper is perfect (say that 3 times fast...lol.) I think what I like the most is that plain burlap flower with the wood button, and then the burlap ribbon with the lace. It's just beautiful, you have captured the essence of the mood board wonderfully!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Kathy and I love your burlap flower!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I love burlap and lace together and your card showcases it perfectly!
