Pretty in Pink

I started with a pretty designer paper and covered it with velum, Then I cut a pink frame with Spellbinders pierced rectangles and backed it with two Poppy Stamps Mod Flower. The white frame is from Frantic Stamper The label is from Sue Wilson and the Cheery Lynn Hugs die is layered three times to give it more dimension. I layered my home made flowers with some from Wild Iris and leaves that I die cut always have on hand.

Happy Anniversary

I am OVER THE MOON!!! I was so excited to be invited to join the talented ladies at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. They are celebrating their second anniversary so the challenge is to make an anniversary card or project. The prize is not one but two $20 gift vouchers so I know you will want to join in the fun. The rules are simple. Just use the challenge theme and, of course, dies. Here is my card for the challenge. I wish you could see the dimension and feel the texture. 

          

I cut the On Your Special Day three times from heavy card stock and glued them together to get more dimension. I think you can tell from the picture how the card came together without a wordy description.  It does not show but I used vellum behind the layers. The flowers are from Wild Iris.

Bird on Branch

I love the spring when the trees bloom and the birds sing. I also love this bird on a branch by IO. I started with a piece of white card and stamped it with versa mark and the IO cover a card brick stamp covered with distress embossing powder to get the rough texture. I cut a hole to resemble a window and backed it with velum. I framed the velum window with white card embossed with wood grained embossing folder. I used my Spectrum markers to color the bird and branch and added a sentiment and a few flowers. I will enter this at the Impression Obsession Happy Hello Challenge and the
Simon Says Anything Goes .

This is for the challenge at Memory Box Any thing but a card. I love these little note books for gifts and actually use them myself. this is a really simple design using the Tim Holtz  Mixed Media die and Memory Box wild flower corner.

Let a Smile be Your Umbrella

Time for another fun challenge at Double D Challenge Blog. Here is the fabulous inspiration for this challenge. 

 I love the idea of raindrops, rain boots and umbrellas and the pretty yellow of the tulips so that is where I took my inspiration. 

I did not have the sentiment I wanted so I computer generated this one. The IO Smile die was perfect to use with the Elizabeth Crafts umbrella and boots.  It just took a few glossy accent raindrops to complete my rainy day card.

Strawberries

I just got these new IO strawberry dies so I had to play with them. I sponged them with fired brick distress ink darker on the edges and fading in toward the middle. I used the Misty to stamp my sentiment. I love the bold bright image you can get when you stamp it a couple of times.  I will enter this in the IO Birthday Wishes  and the Dies R Us  use Scallops challenge. The scalloped rectangles is a Spellbinders die.

Mod Squad Create Your Own Background

I am hosting with the seriously talented Barb Campbell at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog  this week and she challenged me to make a background. I am also representing One Happy Cut where you will find dies from a lot of different companies at a great price, and their shipping is extremely reasonable  The prize is a $15 dollar gift certificate to their store. Here is the card I did for the challenge. 

                                          

 I love texture and dimension in a card so I decided I wanted to use some molding paste(you know the supply you had to have but have not used) to create my background.  It was so fun to work with and it creates both texture and dimension. I started with a Tim Holtz die and cut out a section of an 4 x5.25 card.  Many die cuts can be used as a stencil also. For this card, I cut a Die-Versions Whispers bricks background and used it as a stencil to apply molding paste.

To get more texture I taped some tulle to a piece of card and placed it behind the Tim Holtz pattern.  

If you look closely, you can see a little bit of tulle underneath the Tim Holtz die and in the flower arrangement of Susan's Garden's Dogwoods.

 I cut a Sue Wilson's  Canadian Collection Montreal in kraft card it  in half and glued them together to get more dimension and put them on top of the brick pattern. 

Frantic stampers fern die is used at the top and bottom of my floral arrangement of Susan's Gardens dogwoods and Wild Iris flowers.

I put that on a piece of grass green card stock and added a few Memory Box butterflies and I was done.

"Yellow" A Happy Place to be at Double D !!

This inspiration board just screams YES, it is spring!!! Yellow is such a happy color and I was inspired by the entire board.

This is my card for the challenge. I started with a piece of yellow card stock and stamped it with an IO  gingham cover a card stamp using Versa Mark and embossed with White embossing powder. Then I cut a frame using Spellbinders rectangle dies and backed it with a pretty PTI flower die cut and put the frame over my gingham panel. 

Of course, I had to add some yellow flowers backed with some greenery from Frantic Stamper and IO but instead of my traditional butter flies I used some yellow birds and a cute little bird house that I have not used for years.  The sentiment comes from Sue Wilson's Ornate Ovals Just for You.  Head over to the Double D Challenge Blog and see what my team mates have created. Easter Wheelbarrow

The challenge at IO is an Easter card, and I needed a couple so I made this.  The gingham paper is made from IO background stamp. Everyone should have a gingham wheelbarrow, right??

I sponged a background piece added an IO fence and framed the panel.  I filled the wheelbarrow with IO grass and put some eggs in the wheelbarrow ready to move from place to place and hide for the youngins.

Pink Zinna

Today is the first day of spring so my thoughts went to flowers. I have not used this Spellbinder's zinna for about a year so I decided it needed some love. I started with a Die-Versions brick die cut that I used as a stencil for some molding paste. I topped that with a Cheery Lynn Italian Flourish. Some Spellbidners leaves, a Memory Box Wild Flower corner that I cut in smaller pieces, and Sue Wilson's Dandelion Clocks , and a Cheery Lynn Hugs finished up the card.

Think Green at Scrapy Land

Today is my last post as a Scrapy Land Guest designer. I want to thank Anne Temple and the team members for making this such an enjoyable experience. Now on to the challenge. I don't usually have green as my prominent color so this was a challenge. In fact, I made three cards before I got one I liked.  I started with this beautiful die by Frantic Stamper. It cuts four frames and one rectangle in one pass. Pretty, right? Used some assorted greenery the flowers and added a Cheery Lynn Hugs sentiment. The dogwood blossom is from Susan's Gardens and  the rest of the flowers came from Wild Iris.  Of course, I had to add a butterfly.
