Sharon's Birthday

I had some time today so I looked at challenges and decided to make a card for the Scrapy Land Challenge Pearls and Lace and the Mod Squad Challenge Flower Frame Sentiment.  I started with a black card and cut and oval from the center using Spellbinders ovals.

I covered another piece of card with double sided adheasive and topped it with a Spellbinder's lattice  then poured some mimi pearls prills on top and burnished with my finger.

I topped that with Tutti Designs Rose Frame.  I started the floral arrangement with a Sylvan Sprig from Poppy Stamps and some flowersfrom Wild Orchid  A Frantic Stamper bird with a few pearl buds and a Sue Wilson sentiment finished the card.

This is a card for a special friend whose favorite color is black. I hope she likes it. I will enter this at Scrapy Land Challenge and at the Mod Squad Challenge Blog  Flower Framed Sentiment. Itis fun to do challenges again.

Made for a Challenge

It has been a long time since I have made a card for a chllenge so I decided I wanted to do that again. One of my favorite challenges is Poppy Stamps and their challenge this month is called Flower Power.  They have fabulous dies and this month they are giving away a gift certificate. This card  was fun  and easy because all of the pieces were in my left overs pile, some from my card class and some from other projects. The largest white frame was cut using Spellbinders Rectangular dies and the smaller scalloed frame is a Gina Marie Die. I used the Poppy Stamp Mod Flower die cuts  as a background behind the frames. I love the lacy look. I always keep an assortment of hand made flowers aaround. I made these using Heartfelt Creations Arianna Blooms that were embossed in white and sponged with distress inks and sprinkled with Prills.   The leafy background is Poppy Stamps Sylvan Sprig and the little bird is a Frantic Stamper Die.

Double D Challenge Blog Flowers Gallore

Time for another fun challenge at Double D Challenge Blog  that Darlene calls
Flower GALORE. For this challenge you must use more than one flower.

Look at all these amazing garden flowers. I love all the pictures and found it hard to decide between them, but I needed a birthday card for a friend who has a rustic barn like the one in the picture so I decided to use that for my inspiration.

I started by scoring white card stock using my Score Pal then using a direct ink  to paper technique and  a couple of shades of brown distress ink. Then I embossed it with an embossing folder and added some black ink to high light the embossing.

Next I used IO hydrangea die to cut three flower bases and about 200 little flowers that I sponged in shades of blue and purple.

I stamped the Stampendous jar with stayz on ink on  acetate and colored with markers. Then I used my die to cut the jar from white and the acetate. All that was left to do then was assemble the jar and flowers on the wood grained base.

Working with Diane and Darlene  at DD  is a joy for all of  the team and the mood boards are fabulous inspiration. Go take a peek at what the talnted ladies on the team created for this challenge at Double D Challenge Blog. I know we are going to see some gorgeous creations from you and one randomly chosen person will win this wonderful flower die from Memory Box.

Dies R Us Shaped Cards

The Dies R Us challenge this time is shaped cards. I am always excited to use a die that has had minimal use again. I bought  these two dies to make a card for my husband's birthday a few years back and have used it occasionally but the shaped card challenge gave me a chance to use it again. I made a card and this little treat box for my husband's birthday this year. I will fill it with his favorite chocolate candies,  Since he loves anything to do with barns,  he will be excited.

Here is the side view of the treat box.

I used two dies from Elizabeth Crafts.

Double D Red White and Blue or Stars and Stripes

Diane  made this fun Mood board for us. I love red, white and blue together. For this challenge, you can use the colors or stars and stripes.

For my card I used the colors and stars and stripes. The papers are feebies from Gina K Designs. I cut the striped layer with a Gina Marie die that I have not used for awhile. Then I layered that on top of the blue star paper. I love to frame cards so I made a frame from some spellbinder dies.  Some Gina Marie leaves in blue and white a Cheery Lynn flourish and a My Favorite Things sunflower cut from red gingham paper and a Cheery Lynn Butterfly finished the design.

As always, the team has some fabulous inspiration for you at  Double D Challenge Blog.

Dies R Us Flowers Challenge

The New Challenge at Dies R US is all about flowers.  I decided to feature this lovely sentiment by IO. I stamped it on some vellum with versa mark and embossed it with white powder. I cut a card base in Lovely Lavender by PTI and put the vellum on top.  Next I cut the Frantic Stamper Elemental Ovals and framed the sentiment. I cut part of the Tutti design Lily of the Valley away so I could shape it to fit the Frantic Stamper oval. The card was then framed with Lawn Fawn Stitched Rectangles. Some flowers from Wild Iris added the finishing touches.
