Double D Pick a Pattern

Time for a new challenge at  Double D Challenge Blog This one is called pick a pattern and here is the fabulous mood board.

You may wonder why my colors don't match the mood board.  The answer is simple. I got my challenges mixed up.  In a future challenge, I noticed pink and lime green being used together and thought "That's a pretty combination." A few days later when I decided to work on this challenge I rembered the pink and green.  So went through my papers and found these colors and was thrilled ,,, until I went to post this on the blog  and noticed the colors on the board .... no pink, no green.   Oh well, at least I have patterns. Just imagine I used blue or red or black gingham. This would make a pretty Christmas card if I used red gingham and a red poinsettia.

One of the things I live about DD Challenges is that I get to use some of my older and sometimes retired dies.  I love this chevron die and I think it looks great in pink and green.  The side panel is from Frantic Stamper and the Flower is Elizabeth Craft Shasta Daisy.  I don't know what dies I used under the flower because on days when I am not feeling creative I put several dies on half sheet of  green paper and run them through the die cutting machine. I might do this 10-12 times.  I save them with my flower stash so I can make my floral arrangements quickly.

If you play along with this challenge, one lucky person will win this paper pad from Echo Park.  Don't you love how Dar and Diane make the prize suitable for the challenge. Such clever ladies.

Now go see what my team mates provided for your inspiration.  They never disappoint. Double D Challenge Blog

Dies R Us Summer

It is the 15th of the month and time for a new challenge at DIES R US.  This time it is all about summer.  One of my favorite summertime activities has always been boating and spending time at the lake, Now I am more of a noodle type of person... just give me a water noodle and I will drift along in the lake for hours, but the rest of the family loved to water ski and tube. When we moved to California, Lake Whiskytown was a short 15 minutes from our house so we would get off work and head for the lake. Unfortunately, all the wooded area around Whiskytown was destroyed in the Carr fire last summer. It will take a few years for it to be as beautiful as it once was. This box card is a reminder of the fun times we had there.

These are the dies I used to make the card.

Double D Rose Garden

Welcome to another Double D Challenge and a beautiful rose inapiration board.

Roses are so beautiful and so fragrant.  I love walking in a garden full of them. This pretty Mood Board is so inspiring.

Since the roses in the Mood board are pink , I decided to make a pink card. I noticed the white picket fence in the bottom right card and decided to use my Spellbinders lattice die as a backdrop.  I did not have any rose flowers so I used a punch to make the smaller ones.  The larger one in the center was made using IO Strawberry flower. The team has fabulous inspiration for you Double D Challenge Blog. Your creations always inspire us!!!!

Dies R Us Kids

I Just got some new dies from the Dies R Us Store.  They arrived just in time for the June 1st Challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  When my kids were young,we lived on a large piece of wooded property in a log cabin.  My husband cleared a piece of the property and made a campground that could be used by church groups, boy scouts, girl scouts etc.  Because he liked camping, he would take our kids to the camp ground where they would have the whole camping experience.  Not much for camping, I would join them for dinner and  s' mores, but my son always walked me back to the cabin just before dark (they were afraid I would get lost in the woods) where I slept comfortably in my own bed. These dies brought back those memories.

Nothing unusual, just a little sponging, coloring  and some super cool dies. The team has created some great kid cards for your inspiration.  Go take a look at Dies R Us Challenge Blog,
