Colorful Challenge

It  has been a long time since I have joined a challenge, but I just got these new flowers from Memory Box and couldn't wait to make some of them. I looked at both the Memory Box and Poppy Stamp Challenges and realized the card I had in mind fit both challenges.

This was fun to create.  It is and Easel card, but I want to decide who I will send it to before I finish the inside.  I may make it into a calendar or a note pad, or just add a flower or butterfly to make the easel stand up.  I love the spring look of this card and it has tons of texture and dimension.

Double D Buildings

Our theme at Double D Challenge Blog is called buildings. Barns, Skyscrapers, castles and sheds are all on the mood board.  I had a bit of a problem with this challenge since I don't have many building stamps or dies.

I do have a barn die, but I could not think of a new design to use it.  Then I remembered I had a paper pack with some beach front buildings so I decided to frame one of them. I cut a frame from some teil paper and then sponged it with distress oxide inks and  a stencil that Dar and Diane sent to me.  As you can see ther are different types of buildings in this fun beach paper.

I added a flower, some greenery and a sentiment to the card.  I still struggle with using designer papers, but I love then and keep trying.

We hope you join us for the new challenge at  Double D Challenge Blog for this challenge.  My teamates have some awesome inspiration for you.

Peace on Earth Challenge 14

This fabulous board the Dar created for this challenge at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog is full of glitz and glamor. I love all the metalic finishes.

I loved both wreathes on the board so I decided to combine two different wreaths from my stash.  One is from Tutti Designs and the other is a Poppy Stamp.  The center of my design is the deer from one of the Poppy Stamps Oval design.

There is a lot of shine on my card but I was not able to capture it in the picture.  I started with Gina K Designs gold card stock embossed with Tim Holtz embossing folder.  The Tutti design was cut in heavy weight white card stock to provide a stable base for two Poppy Stamp Adriana oval frames cut from silver and gold glitter  card stock.  The deer was tucked in the center of the wreath and glued in place.

Double D Easter

Our theme this time at Double D Challenge Blog is Easter.  I am sure everyone has Easter memories.  For me Easter revolves  pleasant memories.  When I was young it was Easter egg hunts, the  Easter bunny and an Easter basket filled with  candy.  As I matured, I remember  sunrise service in the park, Easter cantatas, new outfits from head to toe including an Easter bonnet(which shows my age).  Now I  look at Easter as a time to rejoice that God sent his Son to pay for my sins and I am forever free to worship and praise Him.
For this challenge Diane has chosen a fun Mood Board.

I had some  tulip die cuts  from the Greetery that a friend sent me to try out. I decided to use them for this challenge.

I started with a piece of  pink card stock and then stenciled it with an Altenew stencil in shades of pink.  I cut an oval from this using a Poppy Stamp oval die and then placed it back in the center with a white background behind. I added some color to the tulip die cut with a blending brush and some Altenew inks. I added a Creative Expressions Thinking of you sentiment for the finished card.

We hope you join us for this challenge at Double D Challenge BlogIf you do,  you will hafe the chance to win this darling stamp set from Lawn Fawn and an Easter card to send to a special person in your life.

Peace on Earth Challenge 13

Another fun Mood Board from team leader Diane at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog.  I really was not sure of what I wanted to do, but I decided to recycle a card sent by a friend so I chose the horse.

I

I love the little cardinal and the red barn toward  the back.  I cut an Oval from some red card stock and placed trimmed version of the card behind the oval. Next, I used some Poppy Stamps snow flake edger die cuts  and Merry Christmas to frame the oval.

Remember the Mood Board is for your inspiration so any Christmas design is perfect for the challenge.  We hope you join us at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog

Dies R Us Spring Flowers

After a long winter, it is always exciting to see the flowers begin to flower and grow. Our theme this month at Dies R Us Challenge Blog is spring  flowers.  I received a birthday card using this pretty IO hydrangea die and I was reminded that I have the die but have  not used it in quite some time.  The flower I got was pink so I made mine blue.  I have blue, pink, and white hydrangeas that are leafed out but not blooming yet. I can't wait.

I started with this Tutti Rose frame.  I sponged the center of the die and inlaid it in the frame and put that on a blue card base.

Next, I cut the parts of the hydrangea.  You have to cut the flower petals several times, and glue them on separately, which is time consuming, but not hard. I cut them from blue and sponged the edges a bit. Then you glue the flowers to the base piece.  Add the stem and some leaves for a finished flower.

A thinking of you from Creative Expressions and a bow finished the design.
