Double D All White

Isn't this a classy looking Mood Board from Darlene? All the textures, dimension and movement of the designs make each picture a delight.   All white is the challenge this week at Double D Challenge Blog and as always the team has some fabulous inspiration for you.

I took my inspiration mostly from the appliqued flowers and the cupcakes.

I started with a white card base and added a Spellbinders lattice die cut followed by another piece of white card. I cut an  oval from another piece of card stock and  topped it with Tutti Designs Rose frame and a Gina Marie scalloped frame.  A sentiment from Sue Wilson and some roses from Wild Orchid and a Cherry Lynn butterfly finished this all white card. Hope to see some fabulous designs from all of you at Double D Challenges

Anything Goes with Dies

This is a card for my niece,Stephanie, who loves the beach , watermelon, drinks with umbrellas and beer. I decided to make her this twist pop up card featuring her favorite things.

You can't see the texture and dimension in this card from the photo of the entire card.

I added Liquid applique to the beer mugs to look like foam.

Some prills around the watermelon and Wink of Stella to give it some shine.

Some sand colored flower soft adds texture around the chair.  This was time consuming but fun to make.

You can find the dies I used at the Dies R Us Store.

Christmas Ornament

I have not played along in a challenge for while so I decided to look for an interesting one. I found this at the Impression Obsession Blog. It seemed like a good idea to get a start on my Christmas cards so I decided this was a perfect challenge.

I  started with the IO snow flake background and put it to of some double sided adhesive. I applied some Nuvo gilding flakes to that. then I cut the IO fancy Ornament in white and a plain circle in gold glitter  card stock and layered them together. I used three IO pine branches two underneath and one on top and ties a little ribbon on the top. Wallah!!!! One Christmas card completed.

Double D Challenge Blog Tan Neutrals with Texture

Diane has challenged us to Use Tan Neutrals and add some texture to our projects for the challenge this time. Adding texture to a design also gives it a sense of dimension without necessarily adding bulk to the card. There are so many ways to add texture to a card with all the amazing embossing folders, embossing paste. glitter. beads, lace, burlap.... and the list goes on.

After I saw this amazing Mood Board,  I went digging through my stash to see what I could use and I found a roll of burlap covered with lace,  a burlap flower,  and a button that would work.

This card because  was so  quick (five minutes) and easy, but I thought it captured the essence of the mood board.

Supplies:
Gina K Kraft card base
PTI  designer paper
burlap with lace and a burlap flower from the Dollar Store
IO Wheat die.
Buttons from stash.
Ailene's tacky glue.

Head on over to the Double D Blog and look at all the beautiful designs from the team. We are so grateful to all of you for making this blog so successful and fun. Your designs always inspire us. One randomly drawn entry will win  embossing folders that are perfect for adding texture to your designs.

Summertime Fun at Dies R Us

The challenge at Dies R Us is called Summertime Fun. What could be more fun than a ride in a balloon? Every time I see a hot air balloon the lyrics to Up Up and Away... goes live in my head. I am sure some of my blogging buddies are old enough to remember that 60's song. I did some paper piecing  to create the red and blue balloons, added  a sun, some clouds, and rolling hills.  I felt it was missing something to ground it so I added a sentiment with letters cut from IO alphabet die.
