Double D If the Shoe Fits

Time for a new Challenge at Double D Challenge Blog. What an assortment of different types of shoes: casual, glamorous, babies, cowboys.

I did not have a lot of stamps or dies for this challenge, but I did have flip flops. I used IO flip flop dies and added some bling, a few pearl and rhinestones made flip flops a little more glamorous like the pair in the picture.

If you join us for this challenge you will have a chance to win this fun shoe die.

Just like the mood board the team has used many varieties of shoes for this "If the Shoe Fits Challenge". We are always excited to see what you create.

Show Me Your Number

You may wonder about my colors for this challenge.  I tend to use a lot of purple, blue, and sometime pink on my cards and if I am doing a guy card I usually use kraft or brown, but this card is for my hubby who turns 75 in October. His favorite color is hunter green and being a graduate of Colorado State University he loves their colors green and gold.  He will know this card was made with him in mind.

I used the following dies from the Dies R Us STORE
Sue Wilson Designs - Frames & Tags Collection - Birthday PartySue Wilson Birthday Party Frame

I cut out the pieces from the die (Happy banner, cake, and presents) and used them to fill my box.Just because a die is hooked together does not mean you have to leave it together.   Hubby loves cake and cupcakes so I also used the small cup cakes from Karen Burniston's Pop Up Cup Cake die set.

Garden in Depth

I got this Spellbinders Grand Arch for Mother's Day this year so I decided to give it a try.  It is so much fun and the look on my friend's face when she opened the box was worth the extra time. It is hard to get a picture that reveals all the dimension.

There are six layers but since you can use the back and front of five of the layers you have 11 areas to add elements for your scene.

Here I have added Elizabeth Craft daisy and lilac, a Cheery Lynn birdbath and a Sue Wilson banner. You can see the IO fence in the background along with the trees from the IO bride and groom. There is also a Taylored Expressions garden arch covered with flowers.

I really had fun making this and the next one should be easier. I will enter this in the SCRAPYLAND Anything Goes Challenge.

Double D Let's Pop a Wheelie

This is the new mood board created by Diane at Double D. I was intrigued by the large wheel and pumpkins and the wheelbarrow filled with flowers so I decided to fill my wheelbarrow with pumpkins.

I created a fall card that could be used for either a guy or girl.

I used all IO dies for this one. I just did a card for one of their challenges and all the dies were still on my desk so it worked out perfectly.  I just love the flower pots they just released and I use this tree die so often. In the spring I cover it with pink flower soft and in the fall with yellow and orange flower soft or some fall leaves. This time I just used the bare branches.  I think I could use it for Halloween greeting too.
We hope you will join us for our new challenge at Double D.

One random winner will receive this fun prize.

The team is always so impressed with the great projects you create and it becomes hard for us to pick our favorites.  Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Dies R Us Red, White and Blue

Have you signed up to get e-mails from Dies R Us?  If you haven't, you are missing important information about sales and new products at the STOREWhile you are there, check out the Challenge Blog for the newest challenge, Red, White and Blue.

How's this for clean and simple.  Look at all that white space.  I used one die set for this card. I cut it four times in white, red and two shades of blue.  I did some paper piecing to get the different colors.  The happy is debossed on the banner so it is easy to follow the lines with a white gel pen to make it stand out. I  used a birthday embossing folder on the negative part of the die and the inlaid it.

The team has some fabulous red, white, and blue inspiration for you at the Challenge BlogWe would love to see your creations.
