Alas and alac, I hated the card when I finished with it so I went in another direction.
I did have an IO sentiment that suited the challenge beautifully so I started with that. I stamped it on a panel I had sponged with distress oxide inks. I cut the Memory Box Deer Grove Oval twice from black card stock and backed it with the sentiment panel. I put that on the Memory Box Wrapped Scalloped Rectangles die cut that was placed on a blue card base. I added the fairy and a few flowers and I was done.
Everyone loves a prize so one person who creates a project for this challenge will be randomly selected to win this Frantic Stamper die.The team has fabulous Wing It inspiration for you at Double D Challenge Blog.
Here is the first card I made for this challenge. It did not turn out like the vision in my head, but that happens sometimes.
Beautiful card Kathy and the sentiment fits it to a 'T'.Funny of all the millions of dies I have, I don't have a fairy one...your dove card is fabulous as well! Hope google/blogger will behave itself for you soon!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your card Kathy ... the silhouette is beautiful! You design is fabulous with the beautiful background and sentiment. Huh ... I have that sentiment somewhere and never think to use it ... PERFECT here! Well done and your '1st' card is beautiful too ... you are too hard on yourself!! Happy Day!!
ReplyDeleteI like both of your cards! The fairy one is quite spectacular! Loving how you framed this card with the ovals and leaves and that fun wonky stitching. FAB sentiment too! Yeah how did you make out with the commenting thing?
ReplyDeleteHa ha! It seems that you and I both had different visions of our first card. I can see how you sent right to that gorgeous die for your first card. I am sure that it is not as bad as you think. I just love the sentiment on the finished card. You have the most touching sentiment and then make a card or project around them. Is that commenting thing a problem. Can you take a screen shot?
ReplyDeleteFabulous card(s), Kathy! Love your silhouette design against that beautiful background. I really need to get that MB Wrapped Rectangle! It is awesome. Your "Peace On Earth" card is so elegant. I think it's perfect!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards Kathy, love the gorgeous design and the beautiful silhouette.xx💖 [Aussie aNNie's Blog]
ReplyDeleteYour card is absolutely magical, Kathy! There's something about this inspiration board that is magical to my eyes. Your layering is beautiful, and such a graceful fairy die. Not too bulky to mail in an envelope, either. Got to love that! Your bird card is gorgeous, too. It's tough when it doesn't fit the image in your head, but to others it's fabulous. I almost went with a dove, as well, but the dragonflies needed some exercise.
ReplyDeleteWell, personally I love both the cards you did. Each has it's own style and sense of beauty. I hope I can join in the challenge as this is very inspiring to see your designs.
ReplyDeleteThis is so stunning!! I love the dies you used and the beautiful design!! The colors and sentiment are gorgeous!! Love this!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

I have had my eye on that bird die over at Dies R Us, glad to see what it looks like on a card. I think it's beautiful, but so is the second card that you finally went with. I love the silhouetted frame and that pretty little fairy. Great greeting too, just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh it is so magical and pretty too!
