Snowy Cabin and Playful Deer

I am so glad I live in a country where we have a change in seasons. No matter how hot the summers are I can look forward to crisp fall evenings, turning leaves and winter snow falls. On the coldest winter days, I know that we are only a few months away from spring flowers and summer picnics. So here we are in August and the Memory Box Challenge is Keep Cool and Carry OnI decided I would enter this card in the Poppy Stamp Make a Splash Challenge and Scrapy Land Anything Goes too.  This is my second attempt at an inside shadow box card.

Outside                                                              Inside

You can find the directions for the Inside shadow box  from Jennifer Mcquire Here

Poppy Stamps challenge required us to make a splash .  I made the background by sponging some distress oxide inks on white card and spritzing it with water. Then I watered down some glue and splashed  that on the background and then I sprinkled that with white glitter.

I used these dies for the inside.

Memory Box Batavia Oval                                    Poppy Stamps Perfect Pine

Poppy Stamp Playful Fawn                                               Poppy Stamps House in the Woods
Poppystamps - Dies - Playful Fawns (NEW)                                         PoppyStamps House in the Woods Craft Die
I kept the outside of the card simple.

For the Outside I used these dies'

Memory Box Batavia Oval                                            Memory Box Deer Grove Oval

Memory Box - Dies - Batavia Snowflake Oval                                                         Memory Box - Dies - Deer Grove Oval
Memory Box Batavia                                                     Poppy Stamps Ava
Memory Box - Dies - Batavia Snowflakes                                                          Poppystamps - Dies - Ava Snowflakes (NEW)

I will add a sentiment when I decide if I want it for a Winter Card or a Christmas Card.

  3. Kathy, this is just amazing. I was watching that video by Jennifer yesterday. I love the you used a more complicated die in your cards. I was wondering how that would look and you proved that it is gorgeous. Your technique of sprinkling the glitter is so smart and I bet it is fabulous in real life. Now I need to make one.

  4. Amen to the Seasons, Sistah! It got chilly here yesterday, like time to put on socks chilly lol This is so beautiful, Kathy! I thought it was 2 cards as the inside is just as gorgeous as the outside! I have today off and will also be spending some quality time with JM, hope she's ready for me lol Your frames and layers and die cuts are always so smart, just spot on, girl! LOVE! 5. These are so awesome. I love the dies you used and you really captured the beauty of winter as well with them. We felt a bit of the feel of Fall yesterday as well with a chilly rain. We even turned off the AC overnight as it was getting into the 50's and we decided why have it on and then have to add extra covers to stay warm. LOL Anyway, I am loving your cards. They are both fantastic!

  6. Oh, goodness! So beautiful and, as if the outside wasn't beautiful enough, you've got a super surprise inside! Wow! I'm glad our seasons change, too. We don't get much snow, but certainly a change. And fall! Oh, how I love fall!
