Looking Back in Time
Create something that reminds you of times gone by!
I was intrigued by the vintage look of this board with vintage images and in black and white. I looked through my dies and stamps and found a bicycle and some keys, but I was drawn to the typewriter. I guess I must be vintage too because I learned to type on this type of typewriter. I was so excited when my husband bought me an electric typewriter for our anniversary one year. I used that typewriter until we got our first computer.... years later.
I did not have a typewriter die so I looked on line until I found a vintage one that had a free down load. Since all the pictures were clean and simple, I did a clean and simple card that would be appropriate to send to a man. I always have a hard time making them so it will be nice to have this in my stash.
This is the prize you can win if you post an entry on the Double D Blog.
Hope you will join us.
Fabulous card Kathy and yep, we had a typewriter like that too, now days they tear them apart and make jewelry out of them, kind of sad..hmmm! Great vintage look!! PS: I wrote the winners post not Dar...LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThe perfect card for the mood board Kathy and it looks terrific!
ReplyDeleteFantastic vintage card, Kathy! I love old typewriters too...I have the TD typewriter die cut. It's fab and you might want to check it out!
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC! Yep, I learned to type on a manual typewriter too! It's easy to type 90 words a minute now a days with these easy touch keyboards but 'back in the day', your fingers sure got a work out and you were lucky to get any speed at all! LOL Awww the good ole' days! LOL Thanks for the fun memories ... great card!
ReplyDeleteOh, those typewriters! It's almost scaring me how many of these vintage things are from my own past! Sheesh, and I was in high school when I learned to type on this thing. Once the computer age hit, things started moving along fast. Well, anyway... I love that you used the typewriter, and the sentiment is perfect with it. Great for a masculine card!
ReplyDeleteKathy, I learned to type on a typewriter like that! Love your card and the vintage theme you have going. I too appreciate having a card in my stash for a man, not always the easiest to do.
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!! I love vintage typewriters!! What a fabulous card!! Have a great day!! Big hugs :)

I think that I can say that both you and I don't do vintage cards usually. But you just put your memories down on this card and got an amazing one. I learned to type on a machine like this one too. Do you remember how hard it was to punch the keys?
ReplyDeleteYou have captured the board perfectly! I love that typewrite. We had one as well, I think it weighed 98 pounds! Ha! You have such a great background with this too, love it!
ReplyDeleteWonderful card and I love the old vintage typewriter. Your take on the mood board is fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card. And yes, I learned to type on a machine like this also. I remember when they came out with electric typewriters....heaven!!! And now look at us! LOL!!!! Great design here and your creation reflects the Mood Board perfectly!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on the challenge Kathy. The old typewriter and colors are perfect for the vintage look - I love all of it.
