Dies R Us Graduation

A new challenge starts today at the  DIES R US Challenge Blog. This time it is about graduation.

This is an unusual year for graduating classes since most ceremonies have been canceled.  It has been a year, however, when people have used their creativity to find different ways to celebrate these special achievements. For this challenge,  I decided to make a card with the school colors of one of the local high schools.  I will give it to a teacher friend of mine so she can send it too her classroom student aid. I make  side step cards frequently so I keep several pre-made bases on hand.  It is easy then to cover the bases with some pretty papers and a few die cuts.  This card came together in less than 15 minutes.

Here are the dies I used for the card.

Double D Lavender

Diane has created another fabulous Mood Board for us over at the Double D Challenge Blog.   It's all about lavendar.  There is not an image on the board that I don't love, but I took my inspiration from the white chair and the shades of lavender and purple.

The card is prettier IRL.  I could not get a good picture of it.  I used a Sue Wilson Die that I cut from dark purple and white and put that on a lilac card base. The vase is actually an Elizabeth Craft pitcher that I cut from a piece of scrap of Stamperia  paper and filled it with Memory Box lavender and Elizabeth Craft dog woods and an assortment of greenery from my stash.

Go over to the  Double D Challenge Blog to see the inspiration from the team and then play along.  One lucky participant will receive this pretty die from Memory Box. I love how Diane and Dar pick the prizes to echo the theme of the Mood Board. They are such clever ladies.

Dies R Us Seas the Day

A new challenge starts today at DIES R US CHALLENGE BLOG called Seas the Day. For this challenge, I chose a QAE(Quick And Easy) card.  I cut a circle from a panel of white card and covered it with distress ink then sprayed with water.  I stenciled and sponged some light blue card stock with  stormy sky distress ink for clouds and water.  The die was cut from white card stock that I colored with makers and then I  placed a Lawn Fawn  square frame around my scene.

Addicted to CAS Animals

A few of us at Double D Challenge Blog decided to participate in another challenge a together. This time we are over at Addicted to CASIf you follow my blog, you know that it is rare for me to do a CAS card. I love it as a style and admire those who have perfected it, but it is hard for me. I decided it would be good for me to give it a try.

I had this Cottage Kutz die I had not used for awhile. I like how the lab is hidden behind the grass.  I cut it twice once in black and once  in green, and paired that with a new IO  Wooden Disc die  and a PTI Hello die.  A lot of the detail in the wooden disc does not show in the picture.

Visit the Blogs of my team mates and see what they created for this HOP.

Double D Showers and Flowers

I hope you are all staying safe and weathering the challenges that we are facing at this time. For sure, many of us have had more time to craft so we hope you will join us for the new challenge at Double D Challenge Blog.

Here is the Mood Board for the Showers and Flowers Challenge.

My inspiration was the umbrella and rain boots and the bright yellow bow.

A good friend sent me the background die cut(thanks , Barb). I put that on bright yellow card stock and layered it with a Sue Wilson Daisy Frame. The boots and umbrella are from Elizabeth Crafts and the sentiment is from Karen Burniston.

We have lots of showers and flowers inspiration for you at Double D Challenge Blog. We hope you will join us.

DRU Spring Flowers

We are officially half way through the month so it is time for another challenge at  Dies R Us Challenge Blog,Spring Flowers.  One of my favorite spring flowers is the dogwood so I used my Elizabeth Craft Dogwood die for flowers. Hopping Down the Bunny Trail

Hopping Down the Bunny Trail (Easter).

I am a designer for a Challenge Blog called Double D which was created by two wonderful women, Darlene Pavlick and Diane Hoover. Because they are such great leaders, the team has become very close and supportive.  With the world in such turmoil,  we have been checking in with each other to make sure that we are all doing well physically and mentally.  Several of the girls on the team stated that they were finding it hard to create so to shake thing up we are going to participate in a challenge at Cut it Up Challenge called Hoping Down the Bunny Trail.

I did not have one bunny stamp or die so I went searching for free images and found this cute bunny.  I printed it in two different sizes and added a little pink embossing powder to their ears. I started with Spellbinders Vanitian Lace die cut.  I cut an oval from the center and then added a background that I sponged with distress oxide inks, stenciled and finally stamped.

I added  Elizabeth Craft dogwoods and ladder fern along with some Stamping-Up leaves.
I think it came out kinda cute.

All ten members of the Double D Design Team is participating in this Positivity Challenge.    If you click on their name,  it will take you to their blog to see what they created for the Cut it Up Challenge.

Double D Banners

The new challenge at Double D Challenge Blog is called Banners. Diane has provided all sorts of banners in different sizes, shapes, and patterns on this mood board.  I love this Sue Wilson Birthday die with a built in banner.   I have used this die by itself and also cut it apart and used bits and pieces of it on different cards.  I decided to use a blue plaid with matching blue paper so  I can use this card for either a guy or a girl.

Of course, Diane has the perfect prize to go along with the challenge. The possibilities of this die set is amazing.
My team mates have provided lots of inspiration for you, and we hope you will join us for this challenge at Double D Challenge Blog .

DRU Anything Goes

April 1st and time to start a new challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog. This time our challenge is Anything Goes, but remember you need to use at least one die in your project.  I can't tell you how often I use the Memory Box Deer Grove Oval in my designs. I use it with the deer, but frequently I de deer it and just use the tree background.  The deer became a church in this example.

This card could be for Easter, conformation or even a wedding.  I used the following dies from the

Double D Spring

Signs of spring are everywhere so the DOUBLE D spring challenge is perfect.  As usual, Dar has created a beautiful Mood Board.  I was inspired by the shades of pink and the flower wreath so that is where I began.

I began going through my die cuts and dies and found this wreath in my stash.  It is not a die I own, so I am guessing it was sent to me by one of my wonderful team mates. It was perfect for the challenge.

I dug into my bag of pink flowers and selected these.  The Hello was left over from the last challenge.  The only thing I had to cut is the Impression Obsession bird houses. I always have an assortment of leaves cut and ready to use so this card came together quickly.

We hope you join us for this challenge at DOUBLE D.   If you do, you can win this prize.

We hope you join us for this challenge.

Double D St. Patrick's Day

What a fun mood board we have over at Double D Challenge Blog Don't you just love the dog with the shamrock hat?  My inspiration comes from the shamrock, the daisy and the lucky poster.

It is so funny that you make a card and think it looks great until you see the picture and a glaring error stares back at you, but it is too late to do anything about it except pretend it was a happy accident. lol

I  have had this die for awhile and never used it.  I embossed a sheet of card stock with silver embossing powder and the cut out the die. I used my Versa mark Pen over the good luck and then embossed it in green.  I had to do this a couple of times to get good coverage,  The little shamrocks are from IO and also embossed in green,  and the daisy is Elizabeth Crafts. We hope you will join us for this challenge at DOUBLE D CHALLENGE BLOG.  You have a chnce to win this cute die set if you link up your card with us.

Tag You're It

February is history and March is promising thoughts of spring. In Northern California, our almond, plum, cherry and peach trees are in full bloom and as breath taking as always. I love my little farming community.  The grapefruits, lemons, limes and  oranges have provided their fruit for the season and now the the summer fruits and nuts are beginning the process. God is good!!!

So the first of the month means a new challenge at  Dies R Us.  When I get new dies, I can't wait to use them. I wanted to use my new stiched flower die from Impression Obsession and the hugs die. I have had the Impression Obsession All in One Frame Die for awhile and it is one of my "go to" dies.  In this case, I used part of it to make a tag.  I cut it from pink and white so I could vary the layers.

I also used shades of pink and green for the flower.

These are the Impression Obsession Dies I used tor the tag.

Since both Dies R Us and Impression Obsession Tag You're It  had the same challenges I decided to enter my tag into the Impression Obsession Challenge too.

We hope you will link up your tag and join us for the challenge at  Dies R Us Challenge .

Also if you have not signed up for the DRU newsletter you are missing some awesome sales and special promotions.  For instance, in February there was a special promotion of Spellbinder dies. I was able to get a few of my favorites.

Also don't forget, .Dies R Us now has a sister store with warehouses in the USA and Canada called Didi Crafts

It will ship to both the US and Canada.  Didi Crafts will carry some of the same products as DRU, but most will be different.  Now our Canadian friends don't have to worry about huge taxes or shipping fees. How great is that!?!

Have a wonderful MARCH!!!

Double D Saying Hello

What an amazing mood board from Dar at DOUBLE D CHALLENGE BLOG  I just got a new flower die from Dies R Us Store that was perfect for the lower left hand block.  I liked the grey wood toned background so I started the  pattern and created a wood toned background using my Score Pal. I dry embossed over the wood background with an embossing folder and added some darker ink. One of my older Cheery Lynn dies got some love and was added onto the  background. Next came the hyacinths from Elizabeth crafts. A Karen Burniston Hello die was added to the finished flower bouquet.

We hope you will join us for this challenge,  If you do you could win  this fun Hello die.
Go visit the DOUBLE D CHALLENGE BLOG and then link up your Hello Design.
