Today is the first day of the new challenge at Double D Challenge Blog, and it is all about quotes and sentiments. Diane gave us this inspirational mood board. As you can see, the quote or sentiment is the focal image in each case so that is what I tried to do on my card.
I have so many wonderful quotes and I don't use them enough. In fact, this is the first time this stamp has seen ink. I stamped it in Versamark and embossed it in gold, and sponged a little ink around it.
I cut a rectangle out of the center of a piece of white card stock and a smaller rectangle from the center of a piece of black card stock and layered them together to make a frame. I placed the quote behind the layered frame. Lately, I have liked framing around a frame on the top of my card so that is what I did here with a Gina Marie scalloped frame.
The prize for this challenge is quite appropriate, don't you think?

ReplyDeleteAll of the layers really make this sentiment a stand out. You are so artistic with the coordination of the shading on the sediment, and the colors on the beautiful flowers. No one make flowers and groupings like you. A Masterpiece.

ReplyDeleteYour colors are gorgeous! I love them! So clever to add some gold embossing to them, it adds so much interest and prettiness! Framing your frame is clever too! FAB sentiment! You know I love all you create!
ReplyDeleteSorry for the delay in commenting ... was doing a private show yesterday and was too tired by the time I got home and got things put away to get online! LOL ... Sorry!
ReplyDeleteAnyways ... WOW girl ... you never let me down!!! This is AMAZING and just stunning! LOVE the verse and you've showcased it wonderfully! Absolutely FABULOUS!! I LOVE IT!! Hugs
This is just stunning. I love Robert Frost, and I especially love this poem - it reminds me of my hubby. Your colors are awesome and of course the flower spray is beyond amazing. Your whole design is perfect, just gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ros... this should be framed. Oh, wait, it's already framed. Well, it should be kept in a prominent place under a lamp or on the wall. It's gorgeous! Mr. Frost speaks beautiful words straight to my heart. Funny how you mention you're not sure about the gold embossing on the flowers because it's such a striking creative touch. Wouldn't be nearly as pretty without it. So beautiful, Kathy!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and simply stunning. You sure know how to make something spectacular. Of course those flowers top it off perfectly.
