Dies R Us Think Spring

Time for a new challenge at DIES R US. Are you ready to Think Spring? With the record snows in some areas I know many of you are ready for the first sign of spring. In California, the almond trees fill out with soft pink blossoms in February.  Since we have many almond orchards surrounding us, I am looking forward to the day they begin to flower.  .

Last fall I made a similar card using fall colors and liked it so I thought I would make another one with a spring theme. I sponged a sun then covered it with a mask so I could sponge a blue sky. I layered the bench grass and tree and then framed the scene. A couple kitties and  my scene was done.

The team has some fabulous inspiration for you so go take a look Dies R US  and then link up your spring creations.

Double D Rick Rac/ Zig Zag

New Mood Board and New Challenge over at Double D Challenge Blog and as usual we have a wonderful mood board. I liked the soft pastel colors mixed with white so I used that for my inspiration.

I love it when I see a mood board that allows me to use something I have not used for awhile.   I pulled out My Favorite Things Chevron Cover Plate for this challenge. I cut it four times so I would have a variety of colors and patterns.

My fabulous PTI papers were perfect for this design.    I had lavender moon, spring rain, and harvest gold paper packs. I enjoy these papers so much that I had several others on my wish list so can you imagine my happy dance when they put them on sale for their anniversary (marked down from $12 to $ 1). I got every color on my wish list.  since I cut it four times I saved the parts I did not use so I can make three more cards. I used PTI Wet Paint 2 for the sentiment and added one of my homemade flowers and some greenery. This pattern would make a cute baby card.

Out team is always so impressed with your entries in the challenges. There are so many talented designers and we are glad the mood boards inspire you. Here is the prize for this challenge.

I can't wait to see what you all come up with. Visit the  Double D Challenge Blog  to see details and find more inspiration from the team.

Sympathy Birds

This week's PTI challenge was a lot of fun and fit in with some new dies and papers I just received from their gigantic sale. I have been wanting their spring woods stamp and die set for some time and had them in my cart waiting for the fabulous paper sale so I could get them along with several of their designer pacs.  Lexi Daly had the Make it Monday Challenge this week and her theme fit right into my new purchases. She challenged us to use patterned paper with die cuts. To see her challenge and get the details go HERE. I cut the birds form twig wreath paper pack and used a sheet of the spring woods paper pack for the background.
The paper pack made this a quick and easy card, but I like it. I used some of the twig wreath paper on the bottom and stamped a sentiment from the spring woods set.  I will enter this at the PTI challenge and also at NBUS challenge 10 since I have never used any of these things before. I can't wait to play with the stamp set  which includes branches, birds, and flowers now.

Double D Lavender and Lace

This lavender and lace mood board is very feminine and it was fun to make a card using it for inspiration.

I needed several birthday cards this month so while I had my materials handy I made a few cards using basically the same design. I originally made this card for the challenge but I thought it looked  more pink than lavender enough even though the PTI paper is called lavender moon. I embossed the bottom with a Swiss dot embossing folder. I tied a ribbon from lace, added some greenery, a couple of Wild Orchid flowers a sentiment from Sue Wilson and some enamel dots.

I decided to make another one in lavender and purple card to post on DD Blog.  I used some Gina K card stock in shades of lavender and purple.  I doubled the border on this card using two of the dies from a Sue Wilson set. Frantic Stamper Ivy, Tim Holtz ferns, and some lace from my stash  are the backdrop for a lavender silk flower. the bottom is embossed with the Swiss Dots embossing folder

The Prize for this Challenge is this beautiful border.

My teammates have outdone themselves with this board. Go visit the Double D Blog and the pull out your lavender and lace.

Straight from the Heart

The challenge at Dies R Us this time is called Hearts. I chose some pretty paper from PTI in Lavender Moon and cut it with Sue Wilson's Sue-Wilson-DesignsGemini-DiesCentaurus  border die. I added some burlap and lace ribbon the topped it with Cheery Lynn Heart to Heart Doily and and Amy Design. musical stave. I added a few flowers from Wild Orchid and a punched butterfly that was on my desk from another project.

The design team has some beautiful designs and great inspiration for you.

"Papertrey January Blog Hop Challenge".

Blog Hop Inspiration

For this Challenge I tried to mimic one of the cookies. I used some Spellbinders Dies for my cookie base layered on  Paper Trey Ink Mellon Berry paper and Make it Market Garden Guildd Dies for my greenery and as a base for some smaller flowers. A few enamel dots and hearts from another project finished my paper cookie.  The love is from PTI Wet Paint III.

Masked Hearts Wreath

The Challenge from Melissa at PTI is Masked Heart Wreaths.  I have not done this much stamping for a long time and it was fun.  I used the Make It Market Garden Guild Kit the Wet Paint III set for the sentiment. You can see Melissa's video HERE.

Double D Black and White

Today is the second post of our DD Anniversary Month and we have a great Mood Board for you.

The graphics of the pillows looked fun as did the butterflies and I love butterflies, but I decided to go with the black and white kitties. We have had both as pets over the years and this is a card for my daughter who likes things clean and simple so I made this swing card for her.  The Kitties and the Birthday Wishes are from Impression Obsession and the paper is a freebie from Gina K. A Martha Stewart punch is on the side .

Thanks for all of you who took the time to comment on my Anniversary Blog Post.  Your sweet remarks are always appreciated. I did a random drawing and the

Tulip Time

I have not entered a challenge for a long time but I got these tulip stamps and dies from PTI a few weeks ago. Of course, when you get a new toy you have to play so I made tulips in almost every shade of the rainbow and tucked them in a storage bag. I had some design team challenges where I used the Sue Wilson Just a Note and some greenery left over from my card class so when I looked at the samples of the PTI challenge I realized that what I had on hand would fit the challenge. The only thing I had to do to make the card was cut some frames. The background paper in from one of the PTI paper packs in Harvest gold. I will enter this in the  PTI Make it Monday A-la-Carte challenge.
I chose Background Building With Frames with Amy Sheffer.

Dies R Us Winter Blues

A new challenge called Winter Blues begins today at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  For this challenge, I decided to make a shaker card using some pretty blue glitter paper. I sponged a background using distress inks and masking a circle to create the moon. The  Poppy Stamps House in the Woods was cut  from white card stock. I colored the window and door and placed some acetate behind it and added  a little homemade flower soft for the shaker part. I wish now that I would have added a few sequins. I cut some IO  snow flakes from the same blue glitter paper and added them to the front of the of the raised panel.

Dies R Us Anything Goes

A new year and a new challenge over at DIES R US. This is an easy one because it is Anything Goes using a die. I have fallen in love with two products this year, prills and gilding flakes.

I started this card with Impression Obsessions Snowflake Background cut from  white heavy card stock. I backed it with some adhesive paper and then used some gilding flakes to fill in the background. So easy and so much fun.

Here are the dies I used from the  DIES R US STORE.

Donna's Birthday

Donna Phelan's birthday is December 25th. I wanted to make her a card in her favorite color (sunshine yellow) and as far away from a Christmas theme as I could. I made one of these oval accordian cards a month or so ago so I thought I could make another one without watching the VIDEO. NOT!!!! Karen gave some tips for assembly in the video that I forgot and so there were some issues. Note to self ....ALWAYS WATCH THE VIDEO... I had five panels made and shabbily put together. I just could not send it so I started all over again. I got four panels done in time to mail.

I started with Elizabeth Crafts  Accordion Oval die. I cut four panels in white and four in yellow dp.

I did remember to take pictures of the individual panels before I put it together. The flower was made using IO hydrangea flowers in the shape of a lilac. The Paper is PTI.

Double D Silver and Gold

Can you believe this is the last Double D Challenge for this year? Where did the time go?  Next month we start a new year with new challenge boards. I have seen them and The Ds have once again provided fabulous inspiration. For this challenge  Darlene's Mood board captures the warmth of gold and silver beautifully.

This is my take on the challenge. I cut a Diversions Whispers Angelic in black and backed it with some double sided adhesive paper and then applied some Nuvo gilding flakes to make a background. Then I used some embossing powder to make gold and silver paper and cut two more panels. I fussy cut around the angels and star and  popped them up with a slight offset.

Don't forget to visit the Double D Blog to see all the inspiration from the team. Then join us in the challenge.
