PTI Sketch Challenge

I had some craft time this week so I decided to make a card for the PTI sketch challenge.

I chose this sketch and card from Lizzy Jones to use as my guide.

This is my card. I used a spellbinders lattice background and framed it with a Gina Marie die.

The sentiment and tulips are from PTI the leaves are from Poppy Stamps and the lavender bunch is from Memory Box.

Double D Sequins

First of all, we are lucky to have a new teammate joining us at DD. A Big WELCOME to Barbara Campell. You will love her designs.

Diane has created a fabulous mood board for our inspiration. Can you guess the theme.... right it's all about sequins.

My first thought was to make a shaker card,  and fill it wit sequins, but I was working on a birthday card for my niece and noticed the side of the Frantic Stamper Die cut I was using. It was perfect for a border of sequins.

I think it works. What do you think?

I added a few on the inside too.

The team has put together some remarkable designs for you.  So go take a look at their creations at  Double D Challenge Blog.

Dies R Us For the One I Love

This is a very simple card design and for one of my favorite people. There is nothing complicated or difficult about the design and the dies I used are posted at the bottom.  I love this new Memory Box Floral Cluster. I cut it from white and shaded the petals and colored the leaves and centers with Copics. The Papers are from PTI.

Snow Day

I cut the snowflake oval from black and white card stock. I used the negative from the black and the positive from the white and glued them together, I cut the Poppy Stamps House in the Woods from white card and  masked around the house and trees so I could sponge some distress oxide inks around the house I glued this piece behind the oval and added some foam tape for dimension. I sponged another piece of white card for the background and placed it behind the card panel., The whole panel was placed on a white card base. Some cute deer from Poppy Stamps finished the card.

I will enter this in the Memory Box Snow and Winter Challenge and
the Poppy Stamps Snow Day Challenges.

Double D Kitchen is the Heart of the Home

Kitchen is the Heart of the Home!
What's In Your Kitchen?

Isn't this a fun mood board with all  the colors and all the patterns?  I chose most of my inspiration from the gingham aprons and the kitchen utensils.

I just got a couple of Sue Wilson Shadow Box frames from the  Dies R Us Store for Christmas and knew I wanted to use one of those for this challenge.

Sue Wilson Designs - Festive Collection - Christmas Shadow Box

I chose red and blue for the colors and backed the frame with PTI red gingham .  As I was looking through my supplies,I stumbled onto a sticker set I have had for ages. The fun thing about DD challenges is that you are not restricted and can use any supplies that you have. I combined the stickers with a set of cooking dies I have to fill out the squares.

Because this is our anniversary month challenge, there are two prizes for this challenge.

Dies R Us Kids Kards

Time for a new challenge at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog, and it is all about Kids Kards. How fun is that? I made this card for my great niece who will be nine years old. I  decided to make her a muti-colored shaker card.  I embossed a piece of white card stock with a happy birthday embossing folder and sponged it in blue, yellow, purple and pink . I put the acetate behind the shadow box frame and then used foam tape to go around each window. I put the sequins in then glued on the back panel. I put the other decorations on top of the acetate and layered frame on glitter card stock and attached it to a white card base.

I just got his Sue Wilson Shadow Box for Christmas and I sure had fun playing with all those sequins and the fun decorations included in this set.

Wonderful Friends

I made some calendar cards for several of my friends as Christmas gifts this year. Because they were bulky and expensive to mail, I hand carried most of them to friends at various events.  When I decided to make these calendar cards, I had five ladies in mind that have been a blessing to me who I knew would appreciate my efforts.  They have mentored me, encouraged me, sent me care packages and answered every question  that I asked. So this week I made a few more calendar cards for four of these ladies. I already sent one in a birthday package.

I stamped the center of some white cart with a few IO stamps. I made a frame for the sentiment with Sue Wilson's Ornate Oval So Glad You're my Friend. Most of the flowers were made from Cheery Lynn Floral, but I filled in with some purchased flowers I had in my stash.

I always have a variety of  leaves cut in green and in white so the backgrounds are a variety of leaves from different companies.

Two of my new favorites are the Frantic Stamper Bird on a Pussy Willow
Branch and  Memory Box Lavender Bunch

The team at Double D is so excited to celebrate our second anniversary. Working with Diane and Darlene has been a blessing for all of us. We have an amazingly  supportive team and two of the most creative yet organized team leaders. Creative and organized is that an oxymoron? The two don't always come in one fabulously unique package. I know by your response to the challenges that you get inspiration from the mood boards and from the team. To celebrate this anniversary there are two prizes being offered for this challenge. Two randomly drawn entries will have a chance to win one of these prizes.

Take a look at this fabulous mood board, and let it inspire YOU!

I took my inspirations from the top pictures.... balloons and party drinks and pink.

The Stamping Up Balloon Adventure Stamp and Die set was perfect along with the Cheery Lynn Party Set and a Happy Birthday Balloon from Die-Mensions.
I kept the outside of the card simple and reflective of the inside.

Memory Box Holiday Greetings.

I did a lot of Christmas cards using my distress oxide inks after I saw a couple of videos by Dave Brethauer. I like this design because there is texture and dimension without the bulk. We have several single male friends so I like to do cards that are a little more masculine for them. I will enter this in the Memory Box Holiday Greetings Challenge,  I also cut the PTI sentiment from the same paper,

Lawn Fawn - Stitched Rectangle Frames Dies

TIP   I decided when I got Lawn Fawn Stitched die to leave it attached. When I cut with it, I get the stitched frames but I also get the frames in between the stitched frames. So when I cut with this die, I get the three stitched frames and three that have no stitching. Since I use frames on my cards frequently, I have a variety of sizes to use for different projects.

Double D Baby It's Cold Outside

This is our last challenge of the 2017 at Double D Challenge Blog and Darlene has inspired us with all things winter. Don't you love the upside down snowman?  I did not take inspiration from one photo, but when I saw this board, I realized I had a new die that was perfect for the challenge.

My goal for this year was to make my Christmas cards flat and easy for mailing and this Amy Design Wintertide  made that easy.

I cut the Amy Design scene from heavy white card stock. I added a little bit of color to door window and lamp post, backed it with some PTI paper and added a  tree in the center...quick and easy. I did add a few gems to the snowflakes since this card was going to become the top of a box and not be mailed.

If you have never visited the Amy Design Page at Dies R Us and you like this frame, you should visit. There are several frames in this line covering multiple themes including  tools, vehicles and wild animals.

Here is the prize for this challenge.

The team has create fabulous designs for your inspiration so head on over and check them out at Double D Challenge Blog.

I hope all of you have a fun-filled, memory- making holiday filled with all things that make you happiest.  MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR.
