Dies R Us Spring Flowers

After a long winter, it is always exciting to see the flowers begin to flower and grow. Our theme this month at Dies R Us Challenge Blog is spring  flowers.  I received a birthday card using this pretty IO hydrangea die and I was reminded that I have the die but have  not used it in quite some time.  The flower I got was pink so I made mine blue.  I have blue, pink, and white hydrangeas that are leafed out but not blooming yet. I can't wait.

I started with this Tutti Rose frame.  I sponged the center of the die and inlaid it in the frame and put that on a blue card base.

Next, I cut the parts of the hydrangea.  You have to cut the flower petals several times, and glue them on separately, which is time consuming, but not hard. I cut them from blue and sponged the edges a bit. Then you glue the flowers to the base piece.  Add the stem and some leaves for a finished flower.

A thinking of you from Creative Expressions and a bow finished the design.

Peace on Earth Challenge 12

Don't you love the the mood board for this challenge at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog. You don't have to use it as long as you follow the Christmas theme, but it always gives me such wonderful inspiration.

I decided on the scene with the tree.  I have a die that does all the work for you.  I did some  Distress Oxide ink sponging and spritzed it with water. to put behind the die cut.  I saved the aperture and sponge it using the same colors.  I added a little greenery on top and an ornament from another die. The NOEL is an older PTI sentiment.

We had so many wonderful entries for the last challenge.  We hope you will join us at  Peace on Earth Challenge Blog

Double D Handles

The challenge this time at  Double D Challenge Blogis something with handles.

I didn't follow the mood board as closely as usual because I remembered this sweet little Spellbinders treat box that I have not used for three or four years so I decided to make a few to give to friends filled with their favorite chocolate for Easter.  A few years back, I did several of these for Christmas in reds and greens.  I decided I would make these in spring colors for Easter.

A friend of mine sent me a beautiful birthday card.  To protect the card in the mail she covered if with a sheet of embossed vellum. So much prettier than the plain white cardstock I use.   Well, the card and the vellum were sitting on my desk and I decided to cut off bits of the vellum to use as window coverings. Thanks,  Judy Woodland.   The doorknob is a pearl I colored black.  The fence and trees are from Impression Obsession.

I did forget how labor intensive these are especially if you do the landscaping around the house, but it is easy to put together watching a Hallmark movie, listening to some favorite music, or  watching  the news.

We hope you will join us at Double D Challenge Blog where you could win this great IO die.

Dies R Us Anything Goes One More Valentine?

It is time for another Anything Goes Challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  I still had one simple valentine that I had not shared so since it is Anything Goes..... Actually, why couldn't this be a card for any time of the year. The sentiment applies.... right?  Isn't red a primary color and white a basic card base?  Are we stuck in a rut that hearts are always valentines and holly and pine pine boughs and pine cones only for Christmas?  YES,for the most part we are.  The one nice thing about Anything Goes is you don't have to conform to the time of the year, but you can if you want.

So this card was simple to make.  I used red card stock and cut the heart flourish from the center on a diagonal.  Then I embossed that layer.  I cut the words and the heart  flourish again in white.  I inlaid the heart flourish into the red layer and added some hearts and the love you.

We hope you will join us for this challenge at  Dies R Us Challenge Blog.  The team has all types of inspiration for you!!!

Peace on Earth Challenge 11

We have a new challenge beginning at Peace on Earth. This Mood Board offers so many possibilities, but when I saw the puppies, I could not resist.

I decided to take some inspiration from one of my team leaders, Darlene, who is genius at recycling materials. I got a card this year with this adorable golden lab and decided to recycle it for this challenge.

I used an Impression Obsession frame and backed it with a Poppy Stamp frame... I love frames.  A poinsettia and greenery from my stash completed the design.  I don't know about you but I want to snuggle with this adorable puppy.

We hope you will join us for this challenge at Peace on Earth for this challenge

Double D Pockets

A new challenge at Double D starts today. It is one that I think will spark your intrest.  It is a;; about POCKETS.

I took my inspiration from the gingham and pops of red in the bottom left image.

I saw this pocket card front on the  Splitcoast Stampers Blog.  It is easy to make following Dina Kowal's instructions. My gnome is fussy cut from patterned paper.  The grass is from Poppy Stamps Basket easel card and the flowers are from Lawn fawns pop up designs. This would be cute as and Easter card with a cute bunny.

We hope you will join us for this challenge at Double D Challenge Blog.  The team has some great idesa for you.

Dies R Us Challenge Anything Goes Wooden Disk

Today is a start of an Anything Goes Challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.

I always need birthday cards so an anything goes challenge is always an opportunity to add to my stash.

I started with a purple card base and a lavender panel embossed with an Altenew embossing folder and lightly sponged.  I cut and sponged the IO wooden disk and then did a floral arrangement around the disk.  Some IO birds sponged with ink and a Happy Birthday Sentiment cut in black finished the card.

We hope you join us for this challenge at  Dies R Us Challenge Blog.

Peace on Earth Challenge 10

Time for another challenge at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog. I  love the snowy Mood Board

I chose the window on the bottom left as my inspiration.

I used an Altenew wood panel embossing folder and sponged some weatherd wood distress ink on it.  I adheared that to a black card base.  The window is a Poppy Stamp die that I bought years ago and have not used for ages.  It was fun to pull it out again. a small candle from Joy craft and some bitty flowers and greenery from my stash finishes this design.  We hope you will join us for this  Peace on Earth Challenge

Double D Shades of Pink

The Mood Board at  Double D Challenge Blog says it all...think pink.

I decided to use an Altenew layering stencil for this PINK design.  I chose a pink card base with a lighter pink panel.  I used a Poppy Stamp oval frame to cut a center  aperture and backed it with some PTI paper from my stash.  I stenciled the flower in shades of pink and green from Altenew.  I stacked the Cheery Lynn Hugs die three times for the sentiment. The centers of the flowers should have been a darker shade to get the full effect of the dimension of the layered flower.  I'll remember that next time.

One lucky participant will win this cute Impression Obsession Die.  We hope you will join us at  Double D Challenge Blog

I used some dies from Impression Obsession Love Words to finish the card.

Peace on Earth Challenge #9

The Design Team at  Peace on Earth Challenge Blog has done a fabulous job, as always with this Mood Board.  I love the pale pinks in the board paired with the white so I took inspiration from that along with the trees in the top right and bottom left.

This is one of the dies that does the work for you. It is the Studio Light  Christmas Shape Tree Essentials.  I bought it from the Dies R Us Store when they offered a special promotion on European Dies.  The DP is from PTI.  I used it along with pink glitter paper that I have had for years.

We hope you will join us at  Peace on Earth Challenge Blog for this challenge.  You inspire us.!!

Double D Hearts

This cheery mood board for the Double D Challenge Blog makes me happy. I love the gingham, the hearts,  and the red and white details.

I  decided to keep this simple with a gingham background  and Impression Obsession heart and  Impression Obsession Love Words.  I have so many dies and some of them I have only used once, but this scalloped frame from Lawn Fawn makes it onto several cards each month.  After framing my panel,  I put it on a white card base.

PLEASE  come join us at Double D Challenge Blog where one lucky winner will get this pretty heart die.

Dies R Us Valentine Love

The challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog this time is called Valentine Love.  I took a piece of Red Gingham and cut out the words from Impression Obsession Love Words.  When I got the set, I did not cut them apart so I  cut all the words in one pass through my big shot. I knew I wanted to inlay the the words so I cut the die again in red and inlaid the letters in the gingham paper.  I put that on a white card base then added the Impression Obsession Heart Loops.  I ended up making three different cards by using this technique.

Here is one of the other cards.

We hope you will join us for this fun challenge and a chance to win a gift certificate at the Dies R Us Store

Peace on Earth Challenge #8

This Mood Board from Peace on Earth Challenge Blog has so many possibilities.  There is whimsey to rustic, primitive to elegant, brightly colored to muted and I could go on.  I decided I would pick a few details and work from there.

I loved the wooden fence with the snowflakes so I started with that. Then I chose the candle holder from the bottom left.  I used the red from the truck and the boots and a few snow flakes from the snowmen hats.

The lantern is from Marianne Designs.  I surrounded it with some pine cone boughs from The Greetery and poinsettia from Sue Wilson Garland die. The details show up so muck better IRL.  Now I have two Christmas cards done for next year.  We hope you will join us at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog

Dies R Us Anything Goes

Hello friends.  It is time for another challenge at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. We have another Anything Goes challenge for you.  I an using another die that I bought during the special European Die Sale at DRU.  This one is an edger die from Creative Expressions.  They have so many pretty ones that do the work for you but you can still  still get a variety of looks.

Creative Expressions Daisy Bouquet   (Special Order European Dies)

For this card I started with a white card base.  I used the die to cut off the front edge of the card base.  I backed that with a piece of black card stock and then added a strip of black and white gingham to another scrap of black card  to the side.  I punced some small hearts from the left over scraps and added them too.  I had several  sentiments already embossed and ready to use.  Since I was getting low on get well cards I used one of those.  We hope you will join us for this challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog.

Double D 6th Birthday Party Balloons

The Double D Challenge Blog is celebrating its 6th birthday this month.  Diane put this wonderful mood board together with all types and colors of party balloons for our celebration. As usual, the team has created some wonderful inspiration for you too. In the six years, of Double D our team has become a family of good friends.  Though many of us have never met face to face we have gotten to know each other very well.  Having two team leaders who are devoted, caring, and super organized makes this a fun place to create.
My card is a a little larger than A2 (4 1/2 by  5 3/4 ) so I could accommodate the pretty  Greetery Bow and a large bouquet of balloons. I used a Stampin'  Up balloon punch and several colors of glitter paper. You can't see the background but it is embossed with a birthday sentiment embossing folder and sponged with blue, green, and pink inks.  The 6th on the balloons is from a Karen Burniston die set.
Double D was the first Design Team that I was asked to join and it has been a blessing to me and helped me grow creatively.  We are thankful to all of you who support us by posting your fabulous creations. Each challenge we have a hard time narrowing down our favorites because we get so many beautiful entries.  In celebration of our sixth birthday,  I am offering a Dies R Us $20 gift certificate.  There will be a random draw from all the entries and the winner will be announced on the DD Blog and my personal blog.  It's my way of saying THANKS FOR THE SUPPORT.

Check out the inspiration from the team Double D Challenge Blog then join us for this challenge.

Time for Challenge number 7   at Peace on Earth Challenge Blog.  Here is the Mood Board for the challenge.

The Theme is always anything Christmas.  The mood board can be used for inspiration or you can create anything you like as long as it is Christmas themed. I decided to use Santa as my inspiration.

I started with a Memory Box tree frame cut from white glitter paper.   I sponged a background  with some distress oxide inks and spattered it with water.  I also cut a strip of white glitter paper for the  snowy ground.  The Santa is a free digital image I found and fussy cut.  I added the Joy sentiment from PTI and a few stars from a star punch.  The image was framed with a lawn Fawn reverse scalloped frame.

Dies R Us Birthday Toast

This is another die that I bought at a special European die sale.  I ad so much fun creating it with lots of sparkle and glimmer papers.  I made a birthday card but this would be perfect for any type of celebration.  It is easy to assemble and packs a punch.
