Dies R Us Birthday Wishes

Time for a new challenge over at the Dies R Us Challenge Blog. The Challenge is everyone's favorite Anything Goes. The only requirement is to use a die from a company Dies R Us carries. The store has all the major brands so that will be easy.  If you have not checked the store lately, drop by and see all the new products they are carrying.

I made this card for one of my Double D team mates, Vicki Robertson.  Vicki is so talented and always there to lend me a helping hand. Take some time and treat yourself by checking out Vicki's Blog

Here are the dies I used to make this card.

Get Well Soon Bears

I have been having computer issues lately and have not been able to comment on some of my favorite blogs.  If you have not seen any comments from me on your blogs, I have not deserted you, I just can't comment. My hope is that I will get it fixed soon. In the meantime, I am visiting your blogs and praising your work you just can't hear me.  I made this card for my computer, but I will probably send it to an ailing friend. I will enter this in Scrapyland Anything Goes Challenge.

Double D Just Wing It

Just Wing It is the brand new challenge at Double D Challenge Blog. Look at the fabulous Mood board Darlene created for us.When I looked at this mood board, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I loved the beautiful white dove with the rays of light shining down on it, and I had the perfect die to fit the image.

Alas and alac, I hated the card when I finished with it so I went in  another direction.

I did have an IO sentiment that suited the challenge beautifully so I started with that. I stamped it on a panel I had sponged with distress oxide inks. I cut the Memory Box Deer Grove Oval twice from black card stock and backed it with the sentiment panel. I put that on the Memory Box Wrapped Scalloped Rectangles die cut that was placed on a blue card base. I added the fairy and a few flowers and I was done.
Everyone loves a prize so one person who creates a project for this challenge will be randomly selected to win this Frantic Stamper die.

The team has fabulous Wing It inspiration for you at Double D Challenge Blog.

Here is the first card I made for this challenge. It did not turn out like the vision in my head, but that happens sometimes.

Dies R Us Frame It

The 15th of the month and time for a fun challenge at Dies R Us Challenge Blog called Frame It.

I love this Memory Box frame. It cuts, embosses and allows you to use it as a stencil  while it is in the die.  I cut a piece of white card with the floral frame die and backed it with a sponged background.  I put the floral frame on top and inlaid  flower petals and leaves.

These are the dies I used for the card.

When Skies are Grey

Who knew that grey could be so pretty? Diane did when she decided upon this theme.  This board is full of pattern texture and dimension. I did not pick one frame but all of them and tried to get different textures, patterns and dimensions.

Grey seemed a perfect color for a sympathy card, and sadly I have been needing more and more of them. The Frantic Stamper Die Frame Die is the perfect combination of different textures so I added dimension between the layers. A simple flower and a sentiment from Our Daily Bread finished the card.

If you participate in the challenge, you will have a chance to win this fabulous die. As usual the team has so many different and wonderful takes on this challenge so go take a look at DD Challenge Blog.
We want to see your Shades of Grey.

Dies R Us Pastels

Where did February go? Here it is the first of March and another great challenge at

I am trying to replenish my stash of get well and sympathy cards. In the evenings, I spend time with hubby in front of TV and during that time I sponge and shape flowers in different colors so I have them on hand for projects like this one.

I started with a lilac card base and added some PTI designer paper on the top and glued a Frantic Stamper Lattice Edger to the bottom of the DP.  I dressed up the card with some twine and lace then added my flowers and greens. The get well by Frantic Stamper was added to the sides of the flowers.

Here are the Dies available from the  DRU STORE

IO Birthday Wishes

I made this spring birthday for my friend to give to her daughter. I decided to make a Z fold summer scene. I used lots of IO dies for this card. You might not recognize the tree because I cut it away from it's out side frame, I used some flower soft to make it look like it was in bloom. I used the flowers from the hydrangea for the flowers along the fence. My friend was pleased with the outcome.  I will enter this in the Impression Obsession Birthday Wishes Challenge and Scrapy Land Anything Goes.

These are the IO Dies and stamps I used.

PTI Frame It

The challenge at PTI this week is   Framing Sentiments and Images .   I love working with frames so this was right up my alley. I decided to keep this one simple. I cut a white panel from PTI  Mix and Match Pinked edged die and stamped the sentiment from the PTI Choose Joy stamp set. I mounted it on a black card base.  The rest of the card was assembled quickly because they were left over from other projects. The lavender frame around the sentiment is from Frantic Stamper, the leaves from Altenew and the flowers from IO strawberry set.

Double D Woodland Creatures

Wait until you see the team's take on this fun Mood Board that Dar created for us at Double D Challenge Blog.  I took my inspiration from the deer and the greens in the photos.

I don't have many animal dies or stamps, but I did get this Memory Box Deer Grove Oval die last fall. I needed something for guy cards and this was perfect. I now have another card done that is perfect for a good friend's birthday. I did cut the oval three times for more dimension.

Create your woodland creature card and link it up with us at Double D Challenge Blog for a chance to win these cute characters.

Dies R Us Tags

I don't usually make tags unless they are for wine bottles so I left the ribbon long on this one and will use it for a bottle of champagne that I will give to a good friend.

I started with and Elizabeth Craft tag die. I heat embossed an I O script and sponged it with distress inks. I topped that with an IO heart die and IO loopy hearts. The flower spray is a mixture of hand made and store bought flowers. The greens are from a box of greenery that I keep around so I always have plenty when I am making a card. One of my new favorites is Poppy Stamps Perfect Pine Needles. They give a lot of texture.

PTI Dies Only Challenge

This card is for the celebration of  PTI 's 11th year. This is one of my favorite dies from PTI.  Unfortunately since it was from a Make it Market Kit, it was just available for a short time. I also use a tag from another PTI Make it Market Kit paper pack.

I made the flowers using Cheery Lynn Floral Bouquet.

PTI Transformation Challenge

I always have trouble creating cards for the men in my life so when I saw this PTI Transformation Challenge.  I knew it was a perfect way to get  one done.

This is the first card I made. I love that little PTI Envelope. This is an all occasion type of card.

Here is my transformed card. I used PTI card stock and checked designer paper that I think is retired(good thing I bought lots of colors when it was on sale last year)  background paper. I stuffed the little envelope with a white piece of card stock embossed with a birthday embossing folder. The birds are from IO and the cat tails are Die Versions. This is a really quick and simple card.`

PTI Floral Challenge

PTI is celebrating it's anniversary so they have lots of challenges posted. This card is for the FLORAL CHALLENGE.

I saw this Video by Jennifer McGuire ages ago and have been wanting to try this technique. I still had my PTI tulip stamps out so I thought why not try it. Jennifer makes everything look so easy and the results are always gorgeous.

I am not sure how I feel about my outcome.  The technique looked really fabulous on her cards.  I used the PTI tulips set and You are Awesome die by Cheery Lynn.

Impression Obsession Friendship Flowers

I found some more time to play so I decided to enter another challenge. This card is for the Impression Obsession Friendship Flowers Challenge. This challenge is sometimes difficult for me because I am accustomed to using dies from many companies on a card and for this challenge you can only use IO stamps and dies. I do have tons of  IO dies and stamps so I just sorted  through my IO stash and choose things that fit the challenge.   In this case, I knew I wanted to use the sentiment. I have had need for sympathy and get well cards lately so I thought this would fit both.

These are the IO dies I used for this project. I used the flowers from the strawberries and the hydrangea and leaves from leafy branches.  For the sentiment, I used both the stamp and die in the Thoughts set.

I will also enter this in the  Scrapyland Anything Goes Challenge

PTI Sketch Challenge

I had some craft time this week so I decided to make a card for the PTI sketch challenge.

I chose this sketch and card from Lizzy Jones to use as my guide.

This is my card. I used a spellbinders lattice background and framed it with a Gina Marie die.

The sentiment and tulips are from PTI the leaves are from Poppy Stamps and the lavender bunch is from Memory Box.

Double D Sequins

First of all, we are lucky to have a new teammate joining us at DD. A Big WELCOME to Barbara Campell. You will love her designs.

Diane has created a fabulous mood board for our inspiration. Can you guess the theme.... right it's all about sequins.

My first thought was to make a shaker card,  and fill it wit sequins, but I was working on a birthday card for my niece and noticed the side of the Frantic Stamper Die cut I was using. It was perfect for a border of sequins.

I think it works. What do you think?

I added a few on the inside too.

The team has put together some remarkable designs for you.  So go take a look at their creations at  Double D Challenge Blog.

For a chance to win this fun prize, create your own project using sequins.
