Impression Obsession Challenge

I had some time this weekend so I decided to make a card for Impression Obsession All that Glitters Challenge.  One of my favorite winter dies is this Snowflake cover plate by IO. It is so pretty on its own that you don't need much else for a pretty card. I had some blue glitter paper in my stash that I used behind the snowflake die cut and also to cut out the ovals from the Ornate ovals and the Merry Christmas. I added dimension by lifting some of the layers with pop dots.  I forgot to take a picture and enter it in the challenge until today so I just have a few hours to get it entered. So off I go.

These are the IO dies I used

Memory Box Challenge

Since I have so many Memory Box dies, I love to play in the challenges when I have time. The challenge this month is Memory Box Insects  butterflies, bees, and dragonflies. I have been having fun lately pulling out some dies and deciding to use them. For this card, I pulled out three dies I have not used for awhile. Delightful Peony, Delightful Peony Outline and Butterfly Exhibit. I was not sure where I was going but this I what I came up with.

I just used the leaves and the flower for this card. I cut both dies in vellum  and an extra leaf from the outline. I colored the back of  velum with alcohol markers and glued them to the outline flower and leaves. Butterfly exhibit was cut in black. The thank you is from Cheery Lynn. This will be an easy mailer.

Double D May flowers

It's the first Wednesday of the month and time for another challenge at Double D Challenge Blog This is one of the prettiest mood boards ever and who doesn't love flowers. I picked the blue and yellow flowers.

The card I designed could be used for Easter, or a conformation, but unfortunately, I used it as a sympathy card.

I used lots of layers and flowers on this one.

Dies R Us Flowers

I needed some invitations to a special luncheon for a Scholarship group I belong to. Our theme was Bloom Where You're Planted so  potted plants were perfect. I cut the pot from white card and colored it with Copic markers.  I used Memento inks (available at the Dies R U Store) to add color to the flowers and some home made flower soft for the centers. I cut the chevron die three times to give it dimension.

Here are the dies that are available at the Dies R U Store

Memory Box Floral

I had some time to play today so I decided to do a card tor the Memory Box Floral Challenge.  Since I was making this for the Memory Box Challenge I  decided to go through my Memory Box dies and pull out a couple to use. I chose these four dies.

I just got this new sentiment from IO and thought it would work well with flowers. I cut the Blossom Oval die twice from Yellow card stock. I cut the flowers out of the oval frame and replaced it with the sentiment,

Then I built by flower arrangement on the side. I used the flowers from the die cut and some Cheery Lynn Daisy flowers for the base. I tucked some greenery behind the flowers using the grape vine, branch and lilacs all from Memory Box. `I added a few sequins and a  humming bird left over from another project.  This is one of those cards where I think I should have scaled back... you know less is more. Next time.

DRU Spring time

A new challenge starts today at DIES R US.   I know that in may parts of the country you are longing for spring to really arrive. Maybe making a spring card will make it seem like spring.  I love the rose frame from Tutti Designs and use it a lot. This time I used my Distress Oxide inks (available at the DRU store) to make a colorful background. Flowers always remind me of spring and I always make sure that I have plenty of home made ones on hand for projects.

These are the dies I used to create this card.

Check out the spring creations from the DIES R US design team and create your own springtime card fora chance to win a gift card from DRU.

Poppy Stamps Frame It

I had some time to play this week so I thought I would join in on a few challenges.  This one is for   Poppy Stamp Framed Challenge. I made a similar card a few yeas ago but i made some changes to this one. I had this water colored scrap in my scrap box and decided to Frame it.  I cut two pf the Mod Flower borders. I used one along the side and part of another on the top. I topped that with peach colored frame I cut with a Spellbinders die then put the frantic Stamper Frame on top of that.  I love these cute hummingbirds and the Friends was left over from a different project.

Double D Twine

Are you ready for another fun challenge at Double D Challenge Blog.   It is all about twine this time. Although I love ribbon and twine, I seldom use it on my cards so this was fun for me.   I really planned a nautical design, but I could not find my blue and white baker's twine. I used the red and white and suddenly it became all about Christmas for me.

I cut a circle frame using two different sizes of Spellbinder's circle dies. To give it stability I cut it two more times and glued them together. I wrapped some twine around it. Then I went over the top of that with some baker's twine and made a bow for the bottom. My Fiskar's  paper crimper added some texture to a plain white card stock piece and some snow flakes and sequins added a bit of texture and interest. The cute pelicans are from Cottage Cutz.

We are looking forward to seeing what you will create for your Twine creation. The design team always has trouble picking the top three because there are so many fabulous creations. Be sure to check out the inspiration from the team at Double D Challenge Blog

Get Well Soon Bears

I have been having computer issues lately and have not been able to comment on some of my favorite blogs.  If you have not seen any comments from me on your blogs, I have not deserted you, I just can't comment. My hope is that I will get it fixed soon. In the meantime, I am visiting your blogs and praising your work you just can't hear me.  I made this card for my computer, but I will probably send it to an ailing friend. I will enter this in Scrapyland Anything Goes Challenge.

Double D Just Wing It

Just Wing It is the brand new challenge at Double D Challenge Blog. Look at the fabulous Mood board Darlene created for us.When I looked at this mood board, I knew exactly what I wanted to do. I loved the beautiful white dove with the rays of light shining down on it, and I had the perfect die to fit the image.

Alas and alac, I hated the card when I finished with it so I went in  another direction.

I did have an IO sentiment that suited the challenge beautifully so I started with that. I stamped it on a panel I had sponged with distress oxide inks. I cut the Memory Box Deer Grove Oval twice from black card stock and backed it with the sentiment panel. I put that on the Memory Box Wrapped Scalloped Rectangles die cut that was placed on a blue card base. I added the fairy and a few flowers and I was done.
Everyone loves a prize so one person who creates a project for this challenge will be randomly selected to win this Frantic Stamper die.

The team has fabulous Wing It inspiration for you at Double D Challenge Blog.

Here is the first card I made for this challenge. It did not turn out like the vision in my head, but that happens sometimes.
